Euro 2012 experience ‘enjoyable’, declares Doyle

Ireland may have failed to win a point at Euro 2012 but striker Kevin Doyle insists playing in a major tournament was an enjoyable experience.

Drawn in the toughest of the four groups, Ireland were outclassed in Poland, losing to eventual winners Spain, finalists Italy and Croatia but Doyle says being part of the tournament has increased his desire to reach the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

“It does seem like we had a long season with the Euros but that was a really enjoyable experience,” the Wolves striker said.
