Hornets buzzing for Zola

One former Chelsea legend met another in the Turner’s Cross boardroom last night as Bobby Tambling exchanged warm greetings with Gianfranco Zola.

And the smiling Zola already had good reason to feel upbeat, the new Watford boss having just seen his team beat Cork City 2-0.

“Our visit to Cork has been very beneficial for us,” said the Italian. “The facilities have been excellent and it’s great place to train. In the game, Cork City tried very hard, but they had played two days ago, have another game coming up and another in two days’ time. But they still tried to play and that was very important. I was pleased with their performance, like I was pleased with ours.
