Blues win again

Goals from Peter Higgins, Seani Maguire and Jack Doherty helped Waterford United to their seventh win on the spin at the RSC last night.

Blues win again

The Blues scored on 11 minutes. Dylan Mernagh’s throw into the penalty area was met by Peter Higgins’ right-foot blast to the net from 15 yards.

The home side doubled their lead on 26 minutes. A superb Ben Ryan delivery from the left was daftly flicked on by defender Craig Burns into the path of Seani Maguire, who controlled the ball brilliantly before notching his ninth goal of the season.

SD Galway did have a half chance to pull a goal back after 37 minutes when Timmy Molloy’s cross found the head of Paddy Quinlan but his effort was saved by United netminder Packie Holden.

Jack Doherty capped off a fine win in second-half injury-time to seal the victory.
