United in talks to sign young Crewe star Powell

Manchester United are in talks to sign highly-rate Crewe youngster Nick Powell.

Alex boss Steve Davis believes the England U18’s representative is negotiating over a move away from Gresty Road and United head a group of clubs expressing an interest.

“Nick is still with us, but I am sure talks are still ongoing with his agent and clubs,” Davis told Crewe’s official website, www.crewealex.net. “These things take time and rightly so because all parties have to be satisfied with any deal. I still envisage him leaving us this summer, but if it doesn’t we would welcome him back for pre-season.
