You boys are about to take a hell of a beating! Which, by way of homage to a celebrated Norwegian commentator, is your correspondent’s take on the news that Giovanni Trapattoni and Marco Tardelli are about to be added to Montecatini’s all-star Walk Of Fame.

The aforementioned are just some of the celebrities who have visited this famous Tuscan spa town over the years, and Ireland’s management duo are now about to, almost literally, follow in their footsteps by having their names inscribed on circular plaques which will be embedded in the footpath in front of Montecatini’s town hall in a special ceremony here on Saturday.
