Money changed LA star Keane, claims Cascarino

Robbie Keane’s former international strike partner, Tony Cascarino, has claimed the Dubliner enjoys a love-hate relationship with Ireland fans because money changed him.

Cascarino believes the Irish captain should have stayed in English football instead of joining LA Galaxy.

“Robbie is considered a big-head by some Irish supporters,” Cascarino said in an interview published on the website of L’Equipe, the French sports daily. “He’s had difficult moments with them. He has changed, and for some of them, he’s not the same guy he used to be. Money has transformed him. In Ireland, people who change aren’t liked. But I like him a lot because I know another Robbie.”
