Torres added to Spain squad for pre-tournament friendlies

Fernando Torres has been called up for Spain’s upcoming friendly games, boosting the Chelsea’s striker’s chances of being included in the squad for the Euro finals which manager Vincent del Bosque will name on Sunday.

After the manager had expressed concern about the player’s form last December, Torres was left out of the squad for Spain’s friendly against Venezuela in February.

But now, having finished his club season as a Champions League medal winner, he and Chelsea team-mate Juan Mata have both been added to the panel for Spain’s games against Serbia on Saturday and South Korea next Wednesday.
