Wexford see off nine-man Harps

Three second-half goals helped Wexford Youths keep pace with the leaders as they defeated nine-man Finn Harps at Ferrycarrig Park last night.

The game had a dramatic opening with Finn Harps having striker Kevin McHugh red-carded after seven minutes for a tackle on CJ Browne.

The home side broke the deadlock when Tom Elmes headed home a Danny Furlong cross on 65 minutes.

Three minutes later it was further despair for Harps when Adam Clarke was sent off after an off-the-ball incident.

Shane Nolan made sure of the points for wexford with a low shot beyond keeper Ciaran Gallagher and Aidan Keenan added a third two minutes later.

WEXFORD YOUTHS: Doyle, Phelan, Carr, Browne (Scallan 45), Dermody (Dempsey 64), Wall, Keenan, Malone, S Nolan, Furlong, Elmes.
