Expect the unexpected when Trap names squad

Giovanni Trapattoni will name his Euros squad on Monday and, as much as the press and public will be eagerly awaiting that announcement, it’ll be an even more exciting day for the players.

And an anxious one too. Because there’ll be a lot of nervous people hoping that they’ll get in.

The manager made a little bit of a statement of intent for the last friendly, leaving out people who had been fairly regularly involved over recent years. I’d imagine that can’t have been an easy decision for him — and the ones he’ll have to make now will be even harder.
