Anything Chelsea can do...

Richard Dunne reckons Chelsea’s shock victory over Barcelona in the Champions League could provide a template for Ireland’s approach to playing Spain in Gdansk on June 14.

Anything Chelsea can do...

“Some people are saying that’s the game plan but I don’t really know if it is a game plan or just a necessity because Spain will have so muchpossession,” he said. “Over the two games against Barcelona, Chelsea’s defending and concentration wereoutstanding and we know that that’s the sort of thing that we’re going to have to do against Spain. When we have the ball we’re not going to have it for very long so we’ve got to make the most of it. The way Chelsea closed Barcelona down and stifled them and forced them to shoot from long distance rather than letting them get behind them is certainly something that can help us, hopefully.”

One fear Dunne has is that Ireland could experience a backlash from the Barca players in the national team.
