Kelly’s Euros fears allayed

Ireland defender Stephen Kelly admits anxiety set in about missing the European Championships when surgery was required on a fractured wrist.

The full-back sustained the injury during Fulham’s win over Chelsea a fortnight ago after Ryan Bertrand’s ferocious shot connected with Kelly’s hand.

Kelly had surgery on the injury last week, ruling the 28-year-old out of Saturday’s win over Wigan.
