Maguire dishes up revenge

Following a six-goal drubbing from Wexford Youths at Ferrycarrig Park on the opening night of the season, Waterford United made amends in spades at the RSC last night as they trounced their South-East rivals.

Graham Doyle was beaten on 16 minutes when Irish Schools’ U18 international Seanie Maguire picked up the ball on the edge of the area before beating the keeper with a stunning left-footed finish.

Darragh Walshe grabbed a cracking second goal on 33 minutes when, after picking up a pass from Paul Phelan, he gave Doyle no chance with a magnificent right-footed shot from the edge of the area.
