New Spain deal for Del Bosque

Spain have given their manager a ringing endorsement ahead of meeting Ireland at this summer’s Euro 2012.

Vicente del Bosque confirmed he has been given a contract beyond the championships. The 61-year-old’s previous deal was set to expire after the tournament, but the coach will now remain in charge of the reining world and European champions for several more years.

Del Bosque did not disclose the length of his new contract, but is expected to stay on until after the 2014 World Cup.
