Bohs send City rock bottom

Bohemians finally got their first goal and their first win of the league season but Cork City’s woes continue on their return to the Premier Division.

Bohs send City rock bottom

This was a convincing performance by Bohs and one which belied their status as rock bottom club in the top-flight going into last night’s game. But for Cork, this was another disappointing outing, with too many of their bigger names failing to impress, and they are left to continue in search of their first three points of the campaign.

Bohs were close to full strength while John Dunleavy got over the flu and Tadhg Purcell recovered from an ankle knock in time to start for Cork. Playing three at the back when going forward, the home side’s mobile formation allowed them to get plenty of bodies into midfield and up in support of the strikers, though the hard bumpy surface at Dalymount was hardly helping the cause of ball retention for either side in the early exchanges.
