Mr Kilcoyne served as president of the FAI between 1994 and 1996. He was also vice-president of the Olympic Council of Ireland and represented the Olympic movement at FIFA on their Youth Committee. He was a long standing FAI council member representing Shamrock Rovers and Cork City and was also an FAI honorary life president.
FAI president Paddy Mc Caul said: “He had a lifelong involvement in the game and rose to the position of FAI president in 1994. He was always very good company, knowledgeable and very supportive to me in my role. He’ll be sadly missed and I offer my sincere condolences to his family.”
