FA probe Valley brawl

The Football Association last night confirmed they will be speaking to both Bradford and Crawley after the brawl which marred their npower League Two clash at Valley Parade on Tuesday night.

Five players were sent off for violent conduct after the final whistle — Crawley’s Pablo Mills and Claude Davis, along with Bradford’s Jon McLaughlin, Luke Oliver and Andrew Davies.

The FA will contact both clubs once they have studied referee Iain Williamson’s report. It’s understood that charges, should any arise, could be levelled before the end of the week.

Meanwhile Sheffield United thumped Chesterfield 4-1 at Bramall Lane last night to close the gap on Charlton at the top of League One.

Ched Evans grabbed a hat-trick for the Blades while Lee Williamson also scored. Franck Moussa got Chesterfield’s goal.

In Scotland’s Premier League, St Johnstone beat Inverness 1-0 thanks to a Francisco Sandaza penalty after 41 minutes.
