Gaffney the Limerick ace

Limerick FC maintained their 100% home run with a comfortable victory over SD Galway at Jackman Park last night.

Gaffney the Limerick ace

Goals in either half from Rory Gaffney, Shane Tracy and former Irish international Dominic Foley secured victory for the Shannonsiders.

Man-of-the-match Gaffney opened the scoring from close range in the eighth minute after Pat Purcell’s header from a Shane Tracy corner was saved by Liam Grant.

Tracey, who had a fine game for the Blues, picked himself up after being fouled in the box to fire home a 38th minute penalty to double the advantage.

Foley, a constant threat up front, slotted home neatly just under the hour following a clever through ball from Denis Behan.
