McClean gets praise from Wenger

He may have been controversially left out of Giovanni Trapattoni’s squad for the friendly against the Czech Republic but James McClean’s reputation continues to grow.

McClean will be out to continue his fine formtoday when Sunderland host Arsenal. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has watched McClean’s progress with interest and name-checked as one of the main threats to his side today. “I like McClean, he has done well. He is a typical left-sided player with good crosses, flexible,’’ Wenger said.
