Given urges Trap to keep door open on panel

Giovanni Trapattoni has indicated he will look after the players that earned Ireland a Euro 2012 place and some players have argued passionately against ‘blow-ins’ joining the squad.

But goalkeeper Shay Given believes anyone qualified who is good enough should be on the plane to Poland.

“I don’t know what the manager is thinking, obviously the nucleus of the squad will be the lads who got us there,” said the Aston Villa goalkeeper.
