Two of the Premier League’s top three clubs are being lined up for a revamped Dublin Super Cup next August, it has emerged.

Manchester United and either rivals Man City or Harry Redknapp’s Tottenham are in the frame for the quadrangular tournament at the Aviva Stadium in the summer.

The FAI say they’re confident about the future of the pre-season event, despite tournament promoters Endemol Sport ceasing operations. Global agency Iconic Worldwide Events, run by Damien O’Brien creator of the televised show Football’s Next Star, will replace them for the 2012 renewal.
