Spot-on Phillips strikes late to earn Blackpool a replay

Former Irish international striker Clinton Morrison found the net for Sheffield Wednesday as they looked to be on the brink of claiming a spot in the fifth round.

But another veteran with a host of clubs on his CV spoiled the party. Kevin Phillips’ dubious penalty in injury-time pulled Blackpool back in contention for the right to play Everton. The much-travelled 38-year-old, starting a game for the first time since October, was used sparingly by Ian Holloway this year but he was quick to praise Phillips.

“I reckon he’ll still be scoring at 80-odd,” said the Blackpool manager.
