Security hike after bullet threat to Ferdinand

QPR defender Anton Ferdinand has been sent a bullet in the post ahead of today’s FA Cup match with Chelsea.

The bullet and a death threat towards Ferdinand arrived at QPR’s training ground 24 hours before the fourth round tie at Loftus Road.

A police spokesman said: “We are investigating an allegation of malicious communication received today at Queens Park Rangers football club. Officers from Hammersmith and Fulham are investigating.”
