Blues and Blarney win

AVONDALE UNITED and Blarney United warmed up for Friday’s FAI Umbro Intermediate Cup fourth round clash at O’Shea Park with cup wins over the weekend.

Blarney travelled to Youghal United on Friday night for a Munster Cup third round tie and two late goals from Jonathan Coker and Ray O’Leary saw them advance.

Avondale were in action in the quarter-final of the Donie Forde Trophy and were made fight all the way by College Corinthians at Corinthians Park. Mark O’Sullivan headed home the winner deep into extra-time after the sides were scoreless after 90 minutes.
