Title out of reach for Gunners, admits Wenger

ARSENE WENGER is aware Arsenal have a lot of ground to make up before they can be considered as Barclays Premier League title contenders.

Yossi Benayoun’s late goal enabled Arsenal to beat Aston Villa 2-1 on Wednesday night, bouncing back from their 1-0 reversal against leaders Manchester City at the weekend.

But manager Wenger’s team are still 12 points adrift of Roberto Mancini’s City side heading into Christmas, and the Frenchman concedes challenging for a Champions League spot is more realistic than aiming for top spot at present.
