Trap keeps tabs on Green

DERBY midfielder Paul Green has revealed Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni and his assistant Marco Tardelli have kept in contact with him throughout his lengthy injury absence.

Green, who started the Republic’s first four Euro 2012 qualifiers, suffered a knee ligament injury in April but returned to action last month.

Green says his first priority is to get back into the Derby side but the 28-year-old is hopeful of earning an international recall.
