Delaney delight

GIOVANNI TRAPATTONI will climb Croagh Patrick now Ireland have qualified for the Euro 2012, according to FAI chief John Delaney.

On the Italian’s contract renewal, Delaney said his board will be meeting in the coming weeks but gave a firm indication he would be offered a new deal: “All I can say from my point of view is that he’s been brilliant. He’s achieved hugely.”

Delaney added: “I just want to thank the management and players for making my dream come true.”
