Andrews: We want to put on a show for fans

KEITH ANDREWS, man of the match and scorer of that all important first goal in Tallinn on Friday, has revealed that the mood in the Irish camp afterwards bordered on the surreal.

Andrews: We want to put on a show for fans

“It was weird, considering we’d won 4-0 it was just very quiet in the dressing room and on the bus and the plane afterwards. Everyone was just a little bit in shock. Towards the end of the game we were just looking up at the scoreboard and seeing it read 4-0. I think everyone was still in disbelief about the result — you don’t expect that in a game that meant so much. Obviously, a few things went for us. I think they were sendings off but sometimes we haven’t got those decisions. Certainly, the last couple of games we’ve gotten the rub of the green and, thankfully, we’ve taken advantage that.”

What added even more to Andrews’ sense of initial disbelief was that he’d actually been anticipating a really testing night in the Baltics.
