Keane returns as Galaxy edge Bulls fight

THE Los Angeles Galaxy claimed the upper hand in their MLS Western Conference semi-final against the New York Red Bulls after a 1-0 win in a fiery first leg last night.

Republic of Ireland skipper Robbie Keane had already hit a post for the Galaxy by the time Mike Magee gave them a 15th-minute lead after being picked out by a David Beckham free-kick.

The Red Bulls had numerous chances to equalise but found Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Saunders in fine form.
