Estonia confident of upsetting the odds

IF the sight of FAI chief executive John Delaney grinning after his team were drawn to face Estonia in the Euro 2012 qualifying play-off matches next month told its own story, the feeling was definitely mutual for his Estonian counterpart.

Aivar Pohlak, president of the Estonian FA, was relieved to have avoided other seeded teams Portugal, Croatia and the Czech Republic in Thursday’s draw.

“All the teams in the draw were equally strong, but Ireland was the team we wanted,” Pohlak admitted.
