Keane returns for Galaxy

ROBBIE KEANE returned to action on Saturday night after a two-game absence as the LA Galaxy sealed their fourth win in a row with a 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake.

The Irish captain had been out with muscle tightness but played 90 minutes before being substituted in injury-time, coming through the game unscathed but with little in the way of goal scoring opportunity.

Unbeaten at the Home Depot Center all season, LA took a rare deficit into the break after Fabian Espindola’s towering header just before half-time.

But they roared back in the second half with two goals.

Keane’s fellow striker Chad Barrett latched on to a David Beckham pass not long into the second half and cheekily dinked the ball over Nick Rimando.

Another set piece led to the winner after Landon Donovan’s flicked header sent the ball to Todd Dunivant who fired it back across to hapless defender Nat Borchers for an unfortunate own goal.
