FA await ref’s report on missile-throwing incidents

Liverpool’s Luis Suarez holds up an object thrown from the crowd in Saturday’s derby.

THE Football Association yesterday confirmed they would await the referee’s report before deciding whether to take action over the missile-throwing that took place in Saturday’s controversial Merseyside derby.

A coin appeared to be tossed at Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and more than one bottle was launched at team-mate Craig Bellamy while the strikers attempted to take second-half corner kicks during Saturday’s fiery Barclays Premier League clash at Goodison Park.

The FA are likely to receive Atkinson’s report today.
