Fergie furious as Cole’s late tackle injures Chicharito

ALEX FERGUSON has criticised Chelsea defender Ashley Cole after his late tackle on striker Javier Hernandez left the striker injured and heading for hospital.

Cole clattered into Hernandez as he followed up a Wayne Rooney shot which hit the post late in yesterday’s 3-1 victory that put Manchester United two points clear in the Premier League.

Hernandez was carried off and will require tests to determine how long he will be out. Ferguson said: “I don’t know how he will be but for me it was a shocking tackle. The referee has booked him and if he did that I don’t know why it wasn’t a penalty as well. I must ask him.
