Slovakia captain major doubt

SLOVAKIAN captain Marek Hamsik is a major doubt for Friday night’s Euro-2012 Group B qualifier against Ireland at the Aviva Stadium.

The skipper pulled a muscle play for Napoli in a friendly against Palermo on Sunday

Coach Vlad Weiss described the injury as “very bad news for us.”

Meanwhile goalkeeper Marian Kello hopes to shrug off a shoulder injury in time for the qualifier.

The 28-year-old Hearts No. 1, who deputised for the suspended Jan Mucha against Andorra in June, left the pitch at Tynecastle on Sunday towards the end of his team’s 2-0 win over Hibernian following a collision with Akpo Sodje.
