‘Only way is down for Robbie’

GRAEME SOUNESS dismissed Robbie Keane’s chances of securing a move to a ‘big team’.

‘Only way is down for Robbie’

Keane has played for two of the biggest clubs in Europe in Liverpool and Inter Milan but his second spell at Tottenham has been an unhappy one. The 31-year-old appears to have no future at White Hart Lane and spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham.

Souness said: “I think the reason Robbie’s not moved is he’d be on that much money at Tottenham. The kind of teams now who’d be in the market for Robbie would be teams in the lower reaches of the Premier League and their budgets wouldn’t stretch that far.
