Wenger tips Oxlade-Chamberlain for top

EMBATTLED Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has backed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to be a big hit after the Gunners signed the winger for £15 million (€17 million).

The size of the fee — made up of £12m up front and a further £3m in add-ons — will raise eyebrows given Oxlade-Chamberlain’s lack of experience. He is also hardly the experienced, big-name player demanded by Arsenal fans seeking reassurance that the club retains ambitions of winning silverware in the short term.

Wenger though has high hopes for his new signing.
