FORMER Wales boss John Toshack has taken over as manager of Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2012 qualifying rivals Macedonia.

The 62-year-old has been out of work since leaving his Wales role following the 1-0 Euro 2012 qualifying defeat in Montenegro last September.

“I am so honoured that the FFM chose me as coach of the Macedonia national team,” said Toshack. “I hope that together we can achieve success at international level.”
