CORK CITY reclaimed second spot in the First Division with a win over Longford Town in Flancare Park on Saturday night.

On the balance of play City deserved the victory but two events in the early stages of the second half changed the game.

After Town had got back on level terms just before half-time, a questionable decision in the 55th minute saw the visitors go back in front; assistant referee Michelle O’Neill failed to raise her flag for Daryl Horgan who looked offside. The youngster went through on goal and made no mistake grabbing his second goal of the game.
