Wantaway Modric to meet chairman

LUKA MODRIC is meeting Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy for showdown talks on his future today.

Modric has gone on record stating his desire to move to Chelsea, but Spurs rejected a £22 million bid from the Blues last month and Levy has insisted that the 25-year-old is not for sale at any price.

Harry Redknapp dismissed the Blues’ bid for Modric, who has five years left on his contract, as “farcical” and the 64-year-old insisted yesterday his midfield maestro will not be leaving.

Redknapp told the Evening Standard: “Luka is a fantastic player and we need to keep him at the club. We certainly don’t want to sell him.”
