Jonuz vows to consider future

GIOVANNI TRAPATTONI was ready to head for the exit door and the airport when a local journalist got to his feet at the post match press conference on Saturday night and unveiled a speech more at home in yesterday’s Macedonian elections.

After congratulating Trap on the job he is doing with Northern Ireland — quickly corrected by Manuela — the journalist then complimented the Italian on masterminding the best performance yet by an Irish side in Skopje.

Considering the debacles of 1997 and 1999, that praise wasn’t as wholesome as Trap took it to be but for once it was the opposition manager who took all the stick when these two sides met.
