Rock sinks Salthill

TWO second-half goals from John Rock saw non-league Sheriff YC dump Salthill Devon out of the FAI Ford Cup in their own backyard at Drom last night.

After a scoreless first-half Rock’s brace in the 51st and 61st gave the Dubliners the win as Devon failed to add to Paddy Quinlan’s late reply.

The non-league side took the lead just after the restart when Rock managed to get on the end of a long throw from Stephen Murphy.
