Ferguson demands ban for reporter
APâs Rob Harris asked him a question about Giggs, who was named in the British parliament on Monday as the soccer star at the centre of a high-profile privacy case. At yesterdayâs news conference with Ferguson, Harris asked about the importance of Giggs to Manchester United.
âThe most experienced Champions League player in the team is obviously Ryan Giggs. How important is he for the team on Saturday?â Harris said.
âAll of the players are important, every one of them,â Ferguson replied curtly.
Broadcaster Sky News later broadcast Fergusonâs whispered comments to a club media officer.
He was heard saying, âthe guy that asked the question about Giggsy ⊠at the press conference.â
She replies: âWhich one?â
Ferguson responds: âHim that asked the question ⊠who?â
The press officer replied: âOh yeah, Iâll tell you later.â
Minutes later, Ferguson is heard to ask: âIs he coming on Friday?â
The press officer asks: âThe guy with the laptop?â
Ferguson replies: âAye. Then weâll get him. Ban him on Friday.â
Giggs did not train with the team yesterday but played in Gary Nevilleâs testimonial last night.
