HE HELPED bring Premier League football to Wigan, but Leighton Baines suddenly finds himself in danger of being remembered as the guy who helped send them down.

No wonder the Everton left-back has everything crossed that his former club recover quickly from the potentially fatal blow he delivered on his return to the DW Stadium on Saturday.

“If they stay up, it will give me a lot of satisfaction,” said Baines, who launched his career at Wigan before moving to Everton in 2007.
