Real end Barca’s treble hopes

REAL MADRID ended Barcelona’s hopes of achieving another treble as they claimed the Copa del Rey in extra time last night.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s magnificent header after 102 minutes was enough for Real to claim the latest instalment of El Gran Clasico.

In a match which often failed to hit the heights, it was a fine move. There was some lovely interplay between Marcelo and Angel Di Maria down the left and the Argentine swept in a fine ball for Ronaldo to head back across into the top corner.
