Doyle in fitness fight for Macedonia clash

KEVIN DOYLE admits he’s in a race against time to be fit for Ireland’s European Championship qualifier in Macedonia in June.

The Wolves striker is resigned to being sidelined for at least another month with the knee injury he suffered in the 2-1 win against Macedonia in Dublin last month.

That prognosis would rule Doyle out until the penultimate weekend of the Premier League campaign and, having had no action for so long, means he is unlikely to be risked by Mick McCarthy in Wolves’ last-ditch bid to beat the drop.
