STOKE CITY manager Tony Pulis thinks Republic of Ireland striker Jon Walters is starting to realise he can perform at Premier League level.

The 27-year-old former Ipswich striker scored an excellent individual goal in the 1-1 draw against champions Chelsea on Saturday.

“Jon’s come from the Championship and sometimes it takes time to have the confidence and the belief to make the step up,’’ Pulis said. “He had an up-and-down start but he’s been fantastic for us.”
