Yoffe gives Galway vital win

BOTTOM CLUB Galway United continued their hex on Bohemians as they recorded a valuable victory in their Airtricity League Premier Division encounter at Dalymount Park last night.

There was little to enthuse over in a disappointing opening with Killian Brennan the architect of Bohemians’ first opportunity in the 16th minute but his well struck shot drifted wide of Greg Fleming’s left-hand post.

United, who claimed 10 points out of a possible 12 against their opponents last season, absorbed the hosts’ pressure with a reasonable degree of comfort and they nearly broke the deadlock in the 37th minute as Mark Rossiter’s stretched attempted rebounded off Joseph Yoffe but went narrowly wide of the far post. Galway resumed after the interval with their five-man midfield stifling Bohemians.
