DANNY O’CONNOR’S header midway through the second half was enough to give Bray Wanderers their first away league victory over UCD in a decade after a closely-contested Premier Division encounter at the Belfield Bowl last night.

The Students created their first chance on 27 minutes after striker Graham Rusk was taken down by Adam Mitchell 30 yards from goal but the resulting free-kick by Dean Marshall was comfortably blocked by the Bray wall.

With defences totally on top, the home side’s Sean Harding found himself with a rare sight of goal but he blazed over from long range, before Bray created the first real opening on 36 minutes.
