WEXFORD YOUTHS advanced to the next round of the EA Sports Cup with a two-goal victory over a hard working Cobh Ramblers at a bitterly cold St Colman’s Park last night.

The visitors took an early lead after seven minutes when a well-struck corner kick from Ben Ryan was powerfully headed past Ramblers goalkeeper Kevin McCarthy by Wexford defender Gareth McCurtin.

But Dave Hill’s young side were back on level terms on 25 minutes. A good pass from Martin Deady set up Jordan O’Leary who thumped the ball past former Cobh goalkeeper Packie Holden from 12 yards.
