Keane may make West Ham switch permanent

WEST HAM will buy Robbie Keane permanently if they avoid relegation to the Championship, according to Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp.

The Ireland skipper was told that he could not leave White Hart Lane on loan last month as Tottenham wanted to recoup some of the £12m (€14.15m) they paid Liverpool for the striker two years ago.

But West Ham signed the 30-year-old on a temporary basis — and Keane has immediately made an impact, scoring on his debut as the Hammers beat Blackpool 3-1 last week.
