Dalglish hails great week as Liverpool revival gathers pace

WHEN Fernando Torres agreed to join Chelsea on transfer deadline day, the chances of Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish declaring it “a great week” for the club just days later seemed slim.

Torres was loved by the Kop and, alongside Jose Reina and Steven Gerrard, a world-class talent, befitting of the £50m (€58m) transfer fee Chelsea paid for him.

But, with a quirk of the fixture list allowing the Spaniard’s former team-mates to ruin his debut with a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Dalglish was able to take a positive view of recent events.
